Brunery Hydro, located in Kinlochmoidart near Fort William was completed in August 2014. The hydro is a 500kW scheme that utilises water stored in Loch Nam Paitean at a height approximately 370m above sea level. The total 'head' on the hydro station is 343m, one of the highest in Scotland.
Water from the loch was historically used on the Kinlochmoidart Estate. The terrain is particularly steep, exposed and rugged which created many challenges during the planning and construction phases of the development.
